Edgar vs Young Cricket- time up
This work's been on my mind for a while-
Last year, I was asked to do a fight bit between Edgar and Young Cricket for a request. A few days, I mused over how things would progress....
At the point of the initial request, it would be about the third round. A cracked ribs makes things a bit difficult for Cricket, a sudden decrease in stamina and an
open weak spot forcing him to take a more defensive approach. A bit rested, but unwilling to back down, Cricket insists on continuing the fight. About three rounds later, the two end up in a back-and forth pace, but time runs out with both Edgar and Cricket battered and tired... for Cricket, it was a bit worse since he forced himself to attack in a more aggressive fashion than normal: Thinking to keep his opponent from attacking while chipping away at the same time as a good idea, but also a tiring one.. once the last bell rang, Cricket couldn't hide his exhaustion.. his right side darkening and throbbing from the continued hits incurred during the fight. Moving was going to be difficult for a bit, but Edgar offers to help his stubborn yet valiant opponent out of the ring. All's well that ends well, though I don't think they're gonna look forward to the post-match treatment. ^^;
This being my first time doing a work involving carrying someone, I took a little time setting up the bones- what started out as awkward scratches soon became form. Cricket was the first hammered out, then Edgar. Given how the two would end up walloping another for a while, a good number of bruises, scuffs, and the odd goose egg or two told the tale of these two going hammer and tongs. Not too bad for something that took a little over a day from sketch to finish. :)
